Maureen O’Hara — 1920 –2015

Unknown-1As spirited an O’Hara as Scarlett was Maureen, who changed her surname from FitzSimmons to O’Hara at the behest of Charles Laughton, who thought his discovery might capitalize on the popularity of a certain literary heroine.

Loved the way the screen Maureen O’Hara always stood tall, spoke succinctly and didn’t take guff. (Watch this clip from Dorothy Arzner’s Dance, Girl, Dance:¬†https://youtu.be/R_SwZBUoT-s)

Here’s my salute to the talented Ms. O’Hara.
